Mark W. Murray KD4PEO

I am 46 years old, have been married to Eileen for more than 18 short years we have four children.  Three boys and the  a girl. The middle one is a red head.  We home school our children (Eileen has her Masters in Education) and I mostly work out of the family room of our house.  We live in North Georgia with a view of the mountains and only a few hundred yards to the eastern divide.  We do not have a TV in our house and we heat with wood, if you do not heat with wood you just don't understand its not just heat.  I tell people that except for the phone and the computers we live like Robinson Crusoe in truth its a bit more like Gillian's Island.  I am an Eagle Scout with a silver palm.  I was a Scoutmaster for 5 years in a Troop I helped start, in that 5 years we produced 5 Eagle Scouts in a Troop aimed at inner city boys at risk.  I am currently an Assistant District Commissioner for Troops sponsored by the Salvation Army.  I am a Soldier in the Salvation Army and held the rank of Young Peoples Sergeant Major.  I was director of food and clothing distribution for the Atlanta Safe-house a ministry to get prostitutes off the street and into a Teen Challenge environment.  My job was more with street people but I did have a pimp put a $10K contract out on me once (nothing I did but a guy that worked for me stole one of his girls and we sent her to Midwest Challenge).  In the course of that job I have probably committed more felony (you can trust me) breaking and entering than anyone in prison (we worked with the cops), we called ourselves the troll patrol as our clients all lived under bridges and in abandon buildings.  I was pastor of Patria Fellowship for seven years. I am an amateur radio operator, I also have a commercial Marine Radio Operators Permit. I teach part time at Lanier Technical Collage it really is a hobby and I do it because I enjoy it and then get a bit of mad money once a month to blow on computer junk.  I am CompTIA certified in A+, Network+, iNet+ and a Microsoft Certified Professional [Note: This is all Philip Thorton's fault of Leggett & Platt I walked in to certify his testing machine he said go ahead with the old one but he needed a computer person for the new one. It was a turning point in my life].  I have a diploma in locksmithing and one in Bible from Moody Bible Institute.  I have two bachelors degrees one in Economics the other in Public Administration.
I apprenticed at  working on materials testing equipment much like a middle ages gild. I starting working for my dad when I was about 8 to 11 years old (its a bit hard to say this or that was the start). He was working as an engineer and later as Vice President of Satec Systems when they took over the Baldwin line. I would go with him back to work after dinner or on Saturdays and he would pay me with a candy bar and soda from the vending machines. When I was in college at Ga. Tech. I would work with Rudy Wells an old Baldwin service man who stated with them delivering steam locomotives, any time he came into the southeast I would go meet him and help him he would train me. I was in college when dad started Murray Engineering and I traveled with him as much as I could installing Baldwin/Satec machines he sold, and would work with and learn from the service people and him. I sent time at Service Physical training with there people.  Dad split Accurate Calibration from Murray Engineering and handed it to me just after Eileen and I got married mostly the split is for the benefit of the IRS and it keeps track of who did the work and who gets paid we still work very closely and share equipment and customers. Every now and again we actually get to work together. When I need advice I still have dad (we lost mom 6/2001 to cancer), Frank Rotecti of Calibrations Inc. an old Baldwin service man, Tom Hall of Service Physical who knows more about practical Rockwell than any living human, Ernesto Garcia of Soil Test and Ralph Bowman and Scott Lowery of MME. That about does it for my life history.
YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO WORK!
